California State Parks is planning to burn approximately 85 brush piles at Hearst San Simeon State Park Tuesday through March 5.
Depending on weather conditions, fire crews will start burning near the Washburn Campground within the Monterey Pine Forest as early as 5 a.m. and finish at about 5 p.m.
Officials say burning piles reduces the risk for wildfires.
California State Parks is working with the Air Pollution Control District and CAL FIRE.
